Whether its breath taking outdoor recreation or first class national sporting events, Prince George is ready to welcome the world. Prince George offers visitors unbelievable adventure and spectacular scenery combined with big city pleasures.

With top notch facilities and an experienced volunteer base, Prince George has built a reputation as a first class host community. In recent years, Prince George has hosted high profile national events like the Scott Tournament of Hearts, and national championships for baseball, hockey and cross country skiing.

Anne Poussette is helping to put Prince George on the map for sport hosting. An active member of the Prince George Blizzard Speed Skating Club, Anne is behind a number of bids to host major events in Prince George.

“Prince George is the perfect place to host events. Facilities are close by and the whole city gets involved. The volunteer spirit here is incredible. We have already hosted a number of first class national competitions and there are plenty of opportunities to host more national and international events,” says Anne.

Anne says the volunteers in Prince George ensure that events are high quality, well run yet welcoming and friendly. “This is what we are famous for across the country in speed skating and why the BC Cup meet has been here for more than 20 years annually.”
